Remote and Rural Propane Delivery: Challenges and Solutions
Symank Energy is ready to tackle any and all delivery issues
There are all sorts of advantages to living in a big, bustling and busy city, including how accessible propane is, how easy it is to purchase the fuel and how simple it is to get it delivered when you need it. The same cannot always be said for remote and rural areas.
Living and working outside of a city presents certain challenges for both customers and delivery companies when it comes to propane.
Symank Energy is going to dive into what some of those challenges are.
Propane delivery complications that pop up in remote settings
Here are some potential issues that people can encounter when trying to either deliver propane or receive a delivery of propane if they are in rural areas:
Challenge #1: Managing extensive delivery routes
Solution: Delivering fuel to rural areas often means having to drive long and extensive distances. Therefore, drivers should take the time to plan out their routes to maximize productivity, reduce their fuel consumption and potentially save themselves time.
Challenge #2: Not being able to get fuel when you need it
Solution: If you live in a remote and rural area, chances are there isn’t the same plethora of propane suppliers that there are in a city. This can sometimes make it challenging to find and purchase fuel when your supply is low. So it is incredibly important to stay on top of your propane supply so that you don’t find yourself completely out of fuel. Make sure you are placing your orders with enough time to track down fuel in case your regular provider is out and schedule a delivery, seeing as scheduling issues can also pop up in a rural area.
Challenge #3: Inclement weather
Solution: Inclement weather such as snowstorms and torrential downpours can often impact a remote area. This makes it extra important for propane providers to always have an emergency plan put in place and to take the time to come up with alternate delivery routes in the event that their normal delivery route is not accessible.
Challenge #4: Ill-equipped delivery vehicles
Solution: Since trucks that are making propane deliveries to rural areas typically need to take on both rough roads and long driving distances, routine vehicle maintenance and preparation is key in making sure that deliveries can be made and that drivers stay safe no matter what kind of driving conditions they encounter.
